Mustafiz strikes again, India score 164/5
BdIssues Sports Report:
Virat Kohli scored a composed 23 before getting out LBW to off-spinner Nasir Hossain in the second One-Day International (ODI) between India and Bangladesh at Dhaka on Sunday. Shikhar Dhawan was batting fluently at the other end.
Kohli and Dhawan put on 74 for the second wicket after Rohit Sharma was caught at gully off Mustafizur Rahman for a duck off the second ball of the match. MS Dhoni walked in at No. 4, promoting himself above Ambati Rayudu, who replaced Ajinkya Rahane in the line-up. Umesh Yadav and Mohit Sharma were the other changes, as Dhawal Kulkarni and Akshar Patel were their replacements. There were no changes for Bangladesh though, as they went in with the same side that outclassed India in the first ODI.

Mustafizur takes 5 wickets on debut
Star/ BdIssues Sports Report:
Bangladesh’s newcomer Mustafizur picked up his fifth wicket on debut when Ravindra Jadeja failed to connect with his lofted shot and holed out to long-on.
Jadeja was looking dangerous at 32 runs, and with Raina gave India some hope to chase the massive total down.
He put on 60 with Raina before the debutant came to the fore.
Mustafizur Rahman returned for his spell during the power-play overs and quickly rocked India with two wickets in two balls.
He bowled Suresh Raina neck and croft with a mean cutter. Raina was on 40 when he inside-edged Mustafizur’s delivery onto the stumps.
Next ball he sent back R Ashwin for a duck with an excellent off-cutter to leave India reeling.
India lost their fifth wicket when Bangladesh allrounder Shakib Al Hasan struck in his very first over.
Shakib outsmarted Dhoni with a quicker delivery bowled wide. The ball dipped and turned and took the batsman’s outside edge for a catch to Mushfiqur Rahim.
Dhoni scored five runs from seven balls during his short innings.
Sustained pressure from bowling good overs paid off for Mustafizur as he dismissed Ajinkya Rahane for his second wicket of the match.
Rahane fell for nine runs, played 25 balls and struck a boundary while at the wicket.
The slower ball worked again for the Bangladesh left-arm fast bowler.
Rohit Sharma’s promising knock was cut short at 63 when Mustafizur Rahman picked up his debut ODI wicket today.
Mustafizur gave Bangladesh their third wicket when he fooled the Indian batter with a cleverly disguised slower ball against the run of play.
Rohit’s 63 came from 68 balls, with four 4s and a six to his name.
Taskin sent back Indian batting superstar Virat Kohli for a single run in his fourth over of the innings.
Virat played a loose shot to a short-of-length, wide ball and ended up nicking to the wicketkeeper Mushfiqur Rahim behind the stumps.
Taskin Ahmed delivered the first breakthrough for Tigers when he sent back Shikhar Dhawan for 30 runs.
The left-handed batsman faced 38 balls and struck three boundaries in his brief knock.
India's openers Shikhar Dhawan and Rohit Sharma gave their team a solid start with a 95-run partnership chasing Bangladesh's huge total at Mirpur Stadium.
Earlier, Mashrafe Mortaza was the last batsman out in Bangladesh’s innings after he smashed two consecutive fours in the last over.
He scored 21 runs from 18 balls, and helped his team cross the 300-mark.
Taskin Ahmed was the ninth man out for Bangladesh when he became Bhuvneshwar Kumar’s second wicket of the evening.
The young Tigers fast-bowler was out for 2 in the 49th over.
Nasir Hossain’s timely cameo came to an end when he was sent back to the pavilion by Indian fast-bowler Umesh Yadav.
Nasir struck 34 from 27 balls, and entertained Bangladesh fans with three fours and a six in his knock.
Bangladesh lost their sixth wicket at the wrong time when Shakib had just reached his fifty and was looking for quick runs.
Shakib slapped a wide, short delivery from Umesh Yadav into the hands of backward point. He notched up the 29th half-century of his ODI career and was out for 52.
The Bangladesh ace allrounder delighted the Mirpur crowd with three hits to the boundary.
Just when it seemed Bangladesh were looking good to cash in on the power-play overs, Sabbir Rahman got himself out after an entertaining 83-run partnership with Shakib Al Hasan.
Sabbir scored 41 runs from 44 balls (five 4s and one 6s) and managed to up the ante with his partner as Bangladesh approached the last 20 overs of the game.
Ravinder Jadeja picked up his first wicket of the match by sending back Sabbir.
Bangladesh batsman Mushfiqur Rahim failed to impress today with the bat as he was dismissed cheaply by Indian in-form spinner Ashwin.
Mushfiq’s miss-hit couldn’t clear the field and was caught safely at straightish long-on by Rohit Sharma for 14.
Litton Das became the third Bangladeshi wicket to fall, second strike for Indian off-spinner R Ashwin in this match.
Ashwin got his off-break to dip, Litton went for the drive, missed his shot and was struck in front of the wickets.
When play resumed after a brief shower, Tamim Iqbal lost his concentration and ended up being dismissed by R Ashwin for 60 runs.
Tamim left the crease and lofted his shot straight down the throat of Rohit Sharma at long-off.
He played 62 balls, hammered seven 4s and a six while at the crease.
Bangladesh’s fantastic opening stand was stopped at 102 when India’s Suresh Raina sent back Soumya Sarkar with a quick piece of fielding.
Soumya was short of his crease as Raina’s throw left him stranded near mid-pitch. The opener was batting fluently at 54 after playing 40 balls.
He smashed eight fours and a towering six during his brisk innings.
Das and Rahman are the 117th and 118th players to play ODIs for Bangladesh.
They have left out Rony Talukdar, Mominul Haque and Arafat Sunny from their squad.
India have left out Axar Patel, Stuart Binny, Ambati Rayudu and Dhawal Kulkarni.
From the controversy at the MCG to the Tigers' task of securing qualification for the ICC Champions Trophy by keeping themselves within the top eight teams, there are plenty of reasons the Tigers will want to do well today.
The Mirpur pitch has been on the slower side in ODIs lately but the question remains how exposure to the monsoon changes it.
Bangladesh have beaten India in only one match in a bilateral series, in Dhaka in 2004.
The teams have played three series in 2004, 2007 and 2014, with India winning by 2-1, 2-0 and 2-0 margins.

Mustafiz again on strike
ESPNCRICINFO/BdIssues Sports Report:
A rapid 102-run opening partnership between Tamim Iqbal and Soumya Sarkar formed the centerpiece of Bangladesh's 307, their highest total against India in ODIs. The hosts lost four wickets either side of a rain break and endured a middle-order meltdown, but Shakib Al Hasan's fifty coupled with late contributions from Nasir Hossain and Mashrafe Mortza hauled Bangladesh to their second 300-plus score in four games.
India's seamers sprayed the ball on the pads, which formed the theme of the early part of the innings. However, R Ashwin struck thrice in four overs to lead an Indian comeback, after which Umesh Yadav and Bhuvneshwar Kumar built on Ashwin's controlled performance, giving away only 35 while picking up four wickets in the last five overs.
In rare sunlight after some bleak weather, Tamim and Sarkar set to work immediately after Mushfiqur Rahim chose to bat, launching a relentless onslaught on the Indian bowlers. Bangladesh soared past 100 off only 79 balls; their fastest against a top-eight team. Tamim raced down the track to the fifth ball of the match, and though he inside-edged it towards fine leg, he had signaled Bangladesh's intent. They weren't going to hold back.
Tamim found his groove quickly, hitting three fours and a six off Umesh Yadav in the sixth over. The first one was edged but did not carry to Shikhar Dhawan at wide first slip, the second was lashed over point, the next pulled powerfully before the over ended with a belt over covers as Tamim briefly tore open the portal to the 2007 World Cup. From 10 off 16, he had sprinted to 28 off 22 balls, Bangladesh to 45 for 0 in six overs.
Bhuvneshwar, returning to the team after playing only one game in the World Cup, did not find swing nor did he get any movement off the pitch. So did Umesh as the openers forced MS Dhoni to bring on his lead spinner - Ashwin - as early as the eighth over.
Sarkar gave Ashwin a rude welcome, clattering a brace of boundaries before going down the track and launching Mohit Sharma's first ball over midwicket. Dhoni then came up to the stumps to prevent Tamim from leaving his crease. Tamim was hardly perturbed as he camped back in the crease and lofted the next ball over mid-off.
Sarkar soon outpaced Tamim, raising his fifty and Bangladesh's 100 with a nifty ramp over Dhoni's head. Two balls later, the pair was separated by some indecision between the wickets, Raina swooping in and nailing a direct hit at the non-strikers' end to cut short Sarkar's promising innings at 54.
Tamim reached a fifty too before a drizzle grew heavier, resulting in a delay of about an hour. It catalysed a shift in momentum with Ashwin striking thrice in four overs after the resumption. He was helped by some injudicious shot selection too as Tamim and Rahim skipped down when the run-rate was hovering just over six. They did not meet the pitch and holed out to the deep while Litton Das, the debutant, was trapped lbw.
Ashwin had an able ally in Suresh Raina who settled into an asphyxiating rhythm, wheeling through his overs in an uninterrupted spell, which read: 10-0-40-0.
Sabbir, though, combined well with Shakib and repaired the dents. They maneuvered the ball into the gaps and kept the scorecard ticking before kicking to a higher gear. They assembled 83 runs in 14.2 overs before Ravindra Jadeja bowled Sabbir for 41 off 44 balls in the 38th over with a signature flat darter.
Shakib could have also been dismissed on 38 had Jadeja held onto a tough return catch. Shakib would add 14 more before he was snaffled by Jadeja at backward point off Umesh. It wasn't to be Jadeja's only contribution on the field. Two overs later, he took a sharp catch to end Nasir's cameo. Mortaza struck a few boundaries but Bangladesh were reined in after the opening salvo.
Interviewed at the innings break, Shakib said that Bangladesh were 25 runs short.
